Stormfilters by Stormwater360As Auckland continues to grow and develop our water run-off becomes more contaminated with pollution, heavy metals, hydrocarbons and sediment. The quality of our streams, ponds, lakes and harbours depends on how well we can filter that run-off, without causing flooding or other hazards.Combined with several chambers designed to catch gross pollutants and larger sediments Stormfilters utilise media filled cartridges and a float system to slow the flow and filter fine sediments, hydrocarbons and heavy metals. The cartridges make use of vertical height rather than horizontal, therefore a major advantage of a Stormfilter over a sand filter is the much smaller footprint and installation costs. However any system will only work as well as it is maintained. Without a maintenance plan controlled by an experienced and well-trained team, any filtration system will simply block and send heavy flows to a bypass or over flow line. When this happens your filtration unit is simply an expensive hole in the ground achieving very little in the way of filtration.Stormwater360 manage the maintenance plans of Stormfilters, and have appointed HydroVac as their primary maintenance technicians. HydroVac employs a team of service technicians trained in every facet of stormwater maintenance, including the stringent health and safety aspects of entering confined spaces containing water. We have the tools and equipment to ensure each project is completed as efficiently and safely as possible. If you have any questions regarding the maintenance of your Stormfilter system, please contact either Stormwater360 using the link above, otherwise the HydroVac team is ready to take your call.  Together we will ensure you meet your resource consent conditions, and protect the marine life that sets us apart from the rest of the world.
