Spill
response
HydroVac has always offered a spill
response service, and over the years has attended everything from
diesel and oil spills to ammonia, concrete and powder spills.
In 2008 we were put to the top of ARC's Pollution Response sub-contractor
list, and business in this area has been booming since. In response
to ARC's favourable feedback we are pleased to announce the newest
arrival to our fleet, a specialised spill response "First Response"
unit. This unit is designed to attend the spill site and start the
containment process until our specially trained Clean Up Crew can
arrive.
To the right you will see two photo's, a before and after shot. The
four sample in the top photo are used engine oil, cooking oil, hydraulic
oil and pump oil, on gently sloping concrete. Each was left on the
concrete for approximately 60 minutes prior to clean up. The bottom
photo shows the results after using a biodegradable degreaser which
is safe on the environment.
