It may not have been the Oscars but it sure as heck felt like it when HydroVac was named winner of the Excellence in Sustainability Innovation category at the prestigious 2024 CCNZ Hynds Construction Awards!

We don’t normally enter awards but one of our team twisted our arm for this one, telling us what we’ve created with our custom-designed Materials Waste Recycling Plant needed to be shared with the industry.

The judges had this to say about it:

“Diverting 60% of its hydro-excavation waste from landfills and achieving water self-sufficiency highlights the outstanding environmental impact and operational efficiency achieved by Hydrovac’s innovative approach to waste management. The combination of global research and local customisation with an emphasis on sustainability, self-sufficiency, and community engagement has achieved an outcome which showcases a forward-thinking model for waste disposal. Other selected operators have also been given access to use the facility for disposal and collection of recycled water to help support the circular economy.”

So often we’re busy doing the work that we forget to look up and see what we’ve created or achieved so it was an amazing feeling to see our team get a massive pat on the back for this.
