Q. What made you want to work for HydroVac?
A. I was excited by the chance to work in a Kiwi-owned business with a great positive culture and – as evidenced by my own change from wastewater tech to branch manager – the opportunities for development and promotion throughout the company.
Q. What excites you about your role?
A. It gives me the opportunity to apply my management and operational skills to a new environment.
Q. What did you do before HydroVac?
A. I was in security, in an operational role as transport manager for cash in transit.
Q. What’s surprised you about HydroVac so far?
A. The growth of the business to date, starting from one truck to the full fleet we run now. It shows good growth and sustainability and the ability to change quickly to suit the current environment.
Q. What are the priorities, now you’re in the role?
A. We’ve always had South Auckland customers but now we’ve dedicated a branch and team down there to grow our presence and be able to help more customers. I’m keen to make the South Auckland branch every bit as successful as the rest of the company.
Q. Tell us about your home life…
A. I share a house with friends in Manurewa which I am also renovating along with a couple of rental properties. That and taking care of extended family and friends keeps me pretty busy.
Q. How do you relax?
A. By spending time at the beach house with family and friends, walking the dog, and doing gardening and DIY jobs around the house.
Q. What would surprise us about you?
A. I hand-reared two baby kittens from only days old.
