We’re excited to have Jana Laing return to the Christchurch team, now as Outbound Despatch, responsible for co-ordinating our planned maintenance projects. We ran her through our Q&A to get to know her a little better…

I previously worked for HydroVac before moving down South and I really enjoyed it so when I returned to Christchurch I was excited to find work here again in a newly created role.

The fast-paced nature of the role — the forever-changing schedule keeps my mind busy!
Q. What did you do before HydroVac?
Project administration, HR and financial administration.
Q. What’s surprised you about HydroVac so far?
That we take on some really challenging jobs that our competitors wouldn’t go near and we always do those jobs right and nail it.
Q. What are the priorities, now you’re in the role?
Keeping our schedule full with something for everyone in the team to do every day, booking future recurring jobs and planning stormwater filtration jobs.
Q. Tell us about your home life…
I’m currently living with my friend, my cat Snow and dog DeeDee while I look to buy a new home in the Waimakariri area.
Q. How do you relax?
I love going for walks at the beach, fishing, reading a good book, doing art work and spending time with my family and friends.
Q. What would surprise us about you?
That I won a Gold Medal for Hula Hoop at our school Olympics.
