We’ve recently had three new members join our team — a very warm welcome to Sacha Sutton, Gavin Stokes and Ian Anderson!
Sasha Sutton
General admin and reception
Sasha joined Hydrovac in October after graduating from the University of Auckland majoring in psychology and criminology. After years in hospitality and retail, Sasha wanted a change and jumped head first into administration with the YMCA until she went on maternity leave. When returning to work, Sasha wanted something that fitted better with her family life, that brought on more challenges and experience in the administrative sector with the opportunity to learn and grow, and that would help her pay off her student loans before she returns for her master’s degree! At HydroVac Sasha works as a general administrator and reception, and particularly helps out in the wastewater department. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two kids, exploring the beauty of the west coast beaches, watching true-crime documentaries, listening to music and experimenting with different dishes in the kitchen.
Gavin Stokes
Dispatcher
Gavin has had a long career as a driver and a colourful work history that ranged from relocating film vehicles to driving road trains in Western Australia! When he decided to give up HT driving in 2017, Gavin returned home to NZ and transitioned to a dispatcher’s role at a shipping container company. He says he’s genuinely happy to have joined the HydroVac team with his role in dispatch and is looking forward to what lies ahead. Outside of work his hobbies include stereo audio and fitness.
Ian Anderson
Waste Water Technician
Ian originally started his career as an apprentice carpenter and once he qualified with a trade certificate he headed to London to work, where he met wife Nicola (a fellow Kiwi). On returning home, Ian did a three-year stint with Ansett couriers and then spent the following 26 years working for a global IT distribution company in various positions, most recently as a technical quotes specialist. Ian has three children, all now young adults, and enjoys motorbiking, kayak fishing, weekends away at Waihi Beach and riding his ebike.
Due to ongoing growth, we’re in hiring mode. If you’re looking for a new challenge, see what opportunities we currently have on our careers page.
