When it pours with rain, you just hope that the stormwater drains can handle it. Keeping your drain free of leaves and debris is helpful, but have you considered the condition of your drain and filter beneath the ground?
Check out this recent job where we were asked to investigate why there was a cause for flooding — we sent a flush and CCTV crew who put a camera through the drains and discovered this: a buried manhole that was less hole and more vegetation, due to a growth of roots!
You can see the extent of the root intrusion into the manhole in the before photo (you can also see the light from the CCTV camera at the bottom of the manhole if you look carefully).
It is more important now than ever to clear drains — above and below ground — to avoid flooding at this time of the year.
If your drains seem slow to drain or unable to handle heavy rain, call us to ask about a flush and CCV to check the condition of your drains for peace of mind and property maintenance.
